Method

Preparation:

  • First of all, warm the milk in a microwave.
  • Take a bowl, add the desiccated coconuts, and mix them with the warm milk.
  • Keep stirring till it mixes well.
  • Once done, cover and keep aside for about 1 hour.

Preparing the Barfi:

  • Take a baking tray or steel plate and grease it with Ghee.
  • Now take a pan, heat some Ghee, and add the milk-soaked desiccated coconut.
  • Then stir for some time to mix it all and saute for about 2 to 3 minutes on low heat.
  • Once done, add the Condensed Milk and keep stirring thoroughly while on low heat.
  • Add Jaggery Powder and then the powdered Green Cardamom.
  • Let it cook and keep stirring until the mixture starts to thicken.
  • Make sure not to let the mixture stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • Check for the Ghee to release the sides of the mixture after about 25 to 30 minutes.

Setting the Barfi:

  • Now take the Barfi mixture and place it on the greased plate.
  • Then sprinkle some saffron strands and chopped Cashews on top of it.
  • Let it cool at room temperature.
  • Once done, slice the Barfi into pieces.
