Ingredients

Method

  1. In a deep pan, heat oil, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and curry leaves. Let them crackle.
  2. Now add green chilli, onions, and ginger garlic paste. Saute till the onions become translucent.
  3. Turn the heat to medium and add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder. Cover it with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Once the tomatoes are well cooked and oil separates from the spices, add 2-3 cups of water. Now add lemon juice and allow the broth to boil.
  5. Now add the soaked basmati rice. Cover and cook until rice is thoroughly done.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot along with some curd.
